FDA: No Gardasil for Women Ages 27-45

From Lisa Fayed, About.com GuideJune 26, 2008

The FDA has responded to Merck's request to expand the use of it's HPV vaccine, Gardasil, to include women ages 27-45. What many felt like was a guaranteed approval was shot down by the FDA for reasons yet to be explained by the drug manufacturer. Merck has not thrown in the towel and expects to address FDA concerns by the end of July. Hopefully, Merck can satisfactorily address the FDA's "issues" so the expansion can be approved. Women over the age of the 27 need the vaccine too!
